JOIN OUR BLOG Choose from one of the two options:  OPTION 1) YOU BE THE JUDGE:  The Magic Flute has been performed thousands of times throughout the world. Directors over the years have always tried to reinvent the opera by producing a unique production. The production you saw at Opera Philadelphia is a prime example of this. Co-directors Barry Kosky and Suzanne Andrade as well as animator Paul Barritt worked to tell the story of The Magic Flute in a very new way. However, who's to say this is the best way they could have told this story? Did the animation really help the story? Did it make the opera more interesting? It's your turn to be the judge. In your response consider commenting on the story, the sets, the characters, the music, and more.  2) CHOOSE YOUR ENDING:  You may have learned that Tancredi has two different endings. In Rossini's original ending, the hero   Tancredi survives the battle with Solamir and lives happily ever after with his beloved Amenaide. In the other ending (the ending you saw at Opera Philadelphia) Tancredi returns to Amenaide injured from war and dies in her arms. If it were up to you, which ending would you choose?
