In Rossini's original ending, the hero Tancredi survives the battle with Solamir and lives happily ever after with his beloved Amenaide. In the other ending (the ending you saw at Opera Philadelphia) Tancredi returns to Amenaide injured from war and dies in her arms. If it were up to you, which ending would you choose?
